#013 [VIDEO/AUDIO]

[Tsuzuki is seen walking into the showers, with a towel around his waist of course. His gollem stalker films him trying to turn on a shower, but for some reason it won't let out any water. After glaring at it a moment, the showerhead turns to hiss at him. He gasped jumping back, hovering in the air a bit.]

What the hell?! First weird storms! Now snake showerheads!

[His face grows serious as he folds his hands together. Closing his eyes, he begins to chant.]

Of the twelve gods that protect me, appear before me! Come forth, Byakko!

[Suddenly, a wind swirls within the bathroom, catching the gollem in the whirlwind. Before it crashes, the winds steady in one current, revealing a massive, white tiger that roars at the hydra that has immerged. As the beast snaps at the shinigami, Tsuzuki flips back to the tiger and hugs it.]

Byakko! Oh my god, it worked!

Missed you too, pal, but I think this guy's mad I showed up!

Right! Reunions later! By the power of Solomon, be thou judged!

[As Tsuzuki casts Ofuda spells, Byakko roars, producing bubbles of air that fire at the Hydra. It snaps at Tsuzuki's limbs trying to bring him down from the air. When it snaps at the tiger, Byakko chops down on it neck, hurling the beast out of the shower. The two chase after it as it escapes the bathroom.]

[ooc: After wrestling in the hall, Tsuzuki and Byakko kill it, and Tsuzuki passed out. Byakko is sitting in the hall next to him as they both heal up. Tsuzuki got the curse though. Sorry about the bathroom though guys...]

Ah... Well I'm sure people would say the same thing of Smoker back in the days, but there's no doubt he had several. Just the kind of guy who separates it from his job and public life usually I guess.

But dragons mate for life. Unless she died, I can't understand why she isn't around. Unless Kurikara is really a girl. I wouldn't put it passed that dragon...

Well, they were best friends before Kurikara turned against the Golden Emperor. It was really sad, too. Souryuu fought for the Emperor, so he had to wound his closest friend. He even sealed Kurikara away. He doesn't say it, but I know he was tore up about it. It wasn't fair, you know?

I didn't really think about Kurikara much until Tsuzuki started asking Kouchin about him. That was back when he wanted to make Kurikara his shiki. Tsuzuki is a rare guy. I think he's compatible with all shiki. It doesn't matter what element they are. I mean, he's got all of the elements working for him, practically. It's unheard of. That's why we all follow him. He's special.

Well, it's more like shinigami have certain elements they are compatible with, and there are elements they aren't with. Hisoka is great with water and earth shikigami. Fire is a big no-no for him. I think it's because fire is so emotional; all the passion and rage within it would overwhelm his empathy. Wind... well we tend to 'blow things out of control' sometimes. Heheh!

Not Tsuzuki though. We didn't have the technology to measure up his compatibility back then. He just won every challenge we gave him, proving himself to all four gods and even the Hell Serpent. Tsuzuki thinks he's a destructive monster, but I think he's something very special. Something that doesn't come along very often. Haha!

Hah. That is impressive and yeah, what? Why does he think he's a destructive monster? He seems pretty soft-hearted to me.

He carries more responsibility on his shoulders than he should have to. He's a great person, and anyone can see that he's a good friend. It's just that... Well... There is a lot of rubble on the path he's walked, and I don't just mean the stuff Tatsumi drains his check to repair. It's not his fault. He just... really doesn't understand his own strength. You know what I mean?

But that's not his fault. A little surrounding damage is inevitable in a fight.

I mean like people dying... I guess his village is up for debate, but I believe none of the deaths around him were of the intent he should regret.

I may be a god, but when it's kill or be killed, I understand the need to survive. He didn't gloat about it though, so he really isn't bloodthirsty. No matter what era it is, humans will torment their own for no other reason than to feel empowered. It's one of the flaws I wish would die out.

It usually boils down to that. Fear makes people feel weak, so they have to intimidate others to feel stronger. It wasn't always that way, but then again, we shikigami weren't always in Gensoukai...

But you know what? I still think there are people that don't feel that way. Tsuzuki is an extreme version, but there must be people that possess the strength to face that fear and not fall in with the pack. Maybe it's being a god or something, but I still want to believe in people, in those that look up to me at night with bright eyes full of wonder and dreams.

To be honest, Ace, I see a great deal of pain. I'm not sure what you've been through in life, but I can tell it has been harsh.

Though, I do see you as the kind of man that would swim against the current of life, no matter what got in your way. That's why I'm glad Tsuzuki is with you.

I'm scared a lot actually. And supposedly never when I should be. Maybe it's in my blood. In a one on one fight, I never back down. Whether I've been knocked into the ocean to drown fifty times, a hundred, or five hundred, I don't give up. I faced enemies I couldn't defeat. But when I get my most scared is watching the people I care about about to die and in that moment all I can feel this rush of blood in my ears like fire and all I know is that I can't let them die no matter what.

I'd protect Tsuzuki like that, shiki or not, because he's my friend. But I'm afraid. Humans might be afraid, but we don't all act like Blackbeard and cowardly wait in shadows to try to bring down people stronger than us. It's just a matter of how we deal with it and face it and move forward that make us stronger or not.

That honesty is admirable. You speak from experience and the heart.

Thank you for standing by him. He tends to think he's alone in the world, but he's far from it. Remind him he's not alone, okay? He forgets a lot. Haha!
