[Tsuzuki is seen walking into the showers, with a towel around his waist of course. His gollem stalker films him trying to turn on a shower, but for some reason it won't let out any water. After glaring at it a moment, the showerhead turns to hiss at him. He gasped jumping back, hovering in the air a bit.]

What the hell?! First weird storms! Now snake showerheads!

[His face grows serious as he folds his hands together. Closing his eyes, he begins to chant.]

Of the twelve gods that protect me, appear before me! Come forth, Byakko!

[Suddenly, a wind swirls within the bathroom, catching the gollem in the whirlwind. Before it crashes, the winds steady in one current, revealing a massive, white tiger that roars at the hydra that has immerged. As the beast snaps at the shinigami, Tsuzuki flips back to the tiger and hugs it.]

Byakko! Oh my god, it worked!

Missed you too, pal, but I think this guy's mad I showed up!

Right! Reunions later! By the power of Solomon, be thou judged!

[As Tsuzuki casts Ofuda spells, Byakko roars, producing bubbles of air that fire at the Hydra. It snaps at Tsuzuki's limbs trying to bring him down from the air. When it snaps at the tiger, Byakko chops down on it neck, hurling the beast out of the shower. The two chase after it as it escapes the bathroom.]

[ooc: After wrestling in the hall, Tsuzuki and Byakko kill it, and Tsuzuki passed out. Byakko is sitting in the hall next to him as they both heal up. Tsuzuki got the curse though. Sorry about the bathroom though guys...]

You don't know if you died or not? That seems kind of frustrating. I would think I'd know if I died or not, but Tsuzuki would know what that's like better than me. [Instinctively, he pets Tsuzuki's head. His tail pulls him closer as well.]

I was dying in my world when Komui's time machine happened. I think if I got sent back there I'd be dead. But like I said, if I really fully died I wouldn't be able to turn into fire anymore.

Wow... That sounds kinda cool. It's like you were meant to meet here. Are there a lot of people here like that?

I dunno. Smoker was in the same battlefield, but he wasn't dying or anything. And I don't think anyone else was.

Ace, I am a guardian. I've seen a lot of stuff, and either there are a lot of chance meetings going on here, or you guys were supposed to meet up. [Smiles back at the pirate.]

Maybe you and Smoker were supposed to be here for something you couldn't do back home? Just throwing ideas around. I don't know what brought you here after all.

Maybe. I don't believe in destiny, but I do like the idea that we were both meant to protect Tsuzuki.

Destiny is defined differently by different people, Ace. You want to hear my take on life? [He lets out a soft purr as he eyes Ace with a smile.]

Yes please! [Beams.]

We were all born for a reason. This world is alive, and we all are a part of that life. Without us, the world would die a little. That's why every life is important. Some just need a trouncing! [Cheesy grin to kill the serious mood!]

... [Frowns and gets dark.]

Hn. I don't think so. The world would die without us? Definitely not.

[The tiger smells the dark tone, and his senses tell him this is dangerous. He looks straight ahead, shifting into tiger form again. His eyes stare dead ahead.]

I hate to sound cocky here, but you are human. You wouldn't know what the world would look like if humanity died out. It would be a wasteland. No people to tend to the world. Animals would over populate and die out. Plants would die from being crowded. The world has a balance, Ace. I don't care where your from. That how worlds sustain themselves. If that balance is altered, everything would fall apart.

That's all of mankind Byakko.

I'm one guy. And I'm pretty sure the world was a lot happier without me.

[And Byakko can probably now smell all of the rage that was so similar to when he was a kid and nothing but rage.]

You really think that? Death is always painful to the world. Every life was birthed to continue the cycle of Life itself. When a life dies prematurely, that shakes the balance, Ace. One life has more meaning than you know. I'm sure Tsuzuki has told you that.

[The rage he smells only makes him think of Suzaku and her temper. Jesus, if those two ever clashed! There would be a solar flare from the two flames! Her temper also blinded her judgment and understanding though. Ace probably suffered a similar ailment. It probably hurt him just as much, too.]

Prematurely? Hah. Most days I wondered if I should have ever even been born. They killed thousands of unborns and babies to try to stop my birth and I had to stay in the womb for 20 months. Not exactly normal.

20 months for 20 years. [Bitter laugh.]

[He won't look at Ace. It might threaten him to see this look directed at him. The human mind never understood the simplest things of Life. It was tragic and frustrating. Byakko wasn't the type to rub salt in wounds. He had been friends with Tsuzuki long enough to respect people's pain. That didn't mean he felt any less upset about it though. He stilled his growl.]

If you think that's bad, Ace, I'd hate for you to look at the course of history in our world. I've seen genocide for things that shouldn't have mattered. Wars waged over stupid things like crowns and power, and all those men that died in vain for it. Individuals pushed to the brinks of their sanity by their fellow men, begging for the hand of Death to set them free. I don't know what your world is like. Life isn't perfect by any means, but that's just the scales being tipped. The balance is disturbed. Things aren't... right.

Yeah well, that's my point.

Seems like a lot of fuss over something so small.

[He sighs heavily. He didn't want to listen...]

You don't see, do you? Life lost is always a loss.

I'm pretty sure it'd do the whole world a favor if Muraki died.

His souls is lost, but my master wishes to purify it from the world. I cannot argue with his choice.

Will it make up for anything, Ace? Will it restore anything, or just create more destruction? Sometimes I really wonder what can be done anymore. It seems the slope it already begun in more worlds than our own. I suppose Rukijo is right. All beginnings have an end...

[He looks down. Closing his eyes, his anger fades to sadness. It's not easy being a deity...]

Che. I don't think killing him will end the world. More like stop him from ending it.

[He pulls Tsuzuki into his furry belly with his tail to keep him warm. His voice is now full of caution.]

Be careful how you use those words around Tsuzuki though. He has learned of the value a life carries in Life and in Death. You might wound him without realizing it.

[Blinks and nods head.]

He really likes everyone, huh.

[The tiger looks at Ace. He felt bad for both of them. He could see some of the vengeful rage Hisoka carried, and at the same time, he felt some of Tsuzuki's pain in his voice. Why did humans suffer some much?]

I wouldn't say he likes everyone. He just sees more in people than just the surface or what they've done. Call it foolish hope or misplaced faith, but Tsuzuki more wants to save everyone. Pain, sorrow, helplessness, he tries so hard to help people, even if it bites him. Muraki... I think Tsuzuki thinks Muraki wants him to defeat him because he's strong enough. The guy shoulders a lot more than he can carry too often. Even his twelve can't stop him from that. It would take a human's touch to heal his spirit, the only one he doesn't worry about...
