Back in my country, we have a special day on the second Sunday of May. It's called Mother's Day, a day to thank and honor the mothers and mother figures in our lives. I thought I would send a thank you all the mother's here in the Order, whether your children are here or not.

Well... yeah... of course... but you're just going to yell at me, and like I said it's stupid. [Rubs face with top of hand holding the bottle, but looks up at Tsuzuki earnestly.] I just didn't think it'd hit me so hard, yanno?

Why would I yell at you for something that upset you? Other than worrying me. I don't yell unless I'm worried. You should be able to tell me. I told you about my scars. We're friends, Ace. What's the matter?

Since I was scheduled to be executed I had a long time to think about death and afterlife and all of that. And I really wanted to see Thatch again, but I never got to meet my Mother either. She died to save me. So that I could be born without suspicion and even though I trashed that I really wanted to thank her. Only I can't... because I'm here. And I don't know, I guess she'd probably rather I was here living instead, but I'm just frustrated and selfish and really wish I could tell her what it meant to me.

Oh Ace, why would I yell at you for that? I never knew my mother and father. I don't even know what happened them. It's like you told me about Luka. She did that because she wanted you to live. I'm sure her spirit watched over you, and since she was willing to go that far to protect you, I'm sure she already knew you would be forever grateful to her. You can still honor her though, and no one ever said you couldn't hold onto her in your heart. There is a special bond between a mother and child that goes far beyond physical boundaries. Part of her will always be in you. Always...

[His eyes look glossy as he smiles gently.]
